“#Artskickers has opened so many doors, given me direction, given me a kick up the arts! I’m writing my first headline show. I’ve interviewed Rudimental, written for a magazine, performed for an ambassador and freestyled with a full orchestra – all experiences which are alien to me. Being thrown out of my comfort zone has helped me grow as an artist, but most importantly as a young man. Angie and Kay most definitely have been the cornerstone for me. Angels!”
#Artskickers recognised my talent and helped me network, meeting Rudimental and putting me in touch with Susie at the Hackney Empire. It kept me active and helped boost my confidence to believe that using my talent to connect with others is the right thing. They are amazing people who support me on my journey all the way and are willing me on. I know I have friends by my side.
Impressive, elegant, moving… a brilliant effort, recognising brilliant efforts.
What an amazing evening. The children were literally open-mouthed the whole time, it was such a fantastic experience for them.
It takes a community to raise an artist. The #Artskickers Awards is building that community. It’s a privilege to be part of this extraordinary event.
Hands down, the best, most meaningful awards ceremony I’ve ever been to.
Our vision is to create a powerful network of #Artskickers across the UK. With proven success in East London, we’ve got ambitious plans to broaden our reach. Join us!
What a wonderful evening it was, inspiring, moving and great craic. It was like being dipped in honey. Thank you.
MASSIVE THANK YOU for arranging such a wonderful evening. We felt honoured to be included, and humbled by all of the amazing people and work going on around us.
It really was one of the more inspirational evenings we’ve been to in a very long time.
Evidence shows that children who study the arts tend to do better in other subjects; they are more likely to attend university, and are more employable.
When people find their medium, they discover their real creative strengths and come into their own. Helping people to connect with their personal creative capacities is the surest way to release the best they have to offer.
Learning through and about the arts enables young people to make, learn and express themselves. This is fundamental to achieving success in school and in later life.
The impact of the #Artskickers awards has been dynamic; new collaborations, networks and support all strengthening arts practice across East London. Do not underestimate the power of saying ‘Thank you ‘ to a room full of artists, facilitators and organisations who share the same vision and passion for the arts. The results are magical.
